Jeju City Mayor Kang Byung-sam attended the "Shandong International Youth Forum" held in Zibo City and Dezhou City for four days from July 6 to 9. He delivered words of encouragement to young people from around the world and inspected corporate sites.

The forum was attended by over 1,000 young people from 85 countries, and Jeju City was represented by a total of nine participants, including young civil servants and young entrepreneurs based in Jeju City.

Mayor Kang participated in meetings with key leaders of Shandong Province and foreign guest organizations, where they discussed mutual interests. The program included presentations on youth exchange and cooperation projects, the Hwang Ho Global Youth Economic Forum, the World Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and visits to corporate sites.

At the "World Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition" held in Dezhou City, Mayor Kang delivered a speech to encourage young people from various countries.

In particular, in the last paragraph of his speech, he quoted the words of the Chinese writer Lu Xun in Chinese, speaking about "the path that youth should take," which led to significant support and resonance among the local young people.

Mayor Kang also visited Korean companies that have entered the Dezhou City area, and while explaining the economic situation and profit structure of China, he compared it to the situation of companies in Jeju, encouraging business leaders who strive in the fierce competition in the global market.

During a meeting with Mayor Zhu Kaiguo of Dezhou City, Mayor Kang congratulated the successful hosting of the forum. He emphasized that Jeju is an optimal destination for citizens who are making efforts for the development of Dezhou City to enjoy leisure and tourism, and requested efforts to allow more citizens to visit Jeju.

During the meeting, Mayor Kang and Mayor Zhu Kaiguo expressed their agreement on the importance of maintaining a friendly relationship for mutual benefit and development at the local government level.
